Beach Destinations and Attractions in Bali


Kuta Beach


Kuta Beach is one of the famous beaches in Bali. Travelers who vacation to Bali will never forget to visit this beach. Kuta Beach is one place to see the sunset panorama besides Pura Uluwatu, Pura Tanah Lot or Jimbaran beach.

This beach is famous for its high waves for water sports, especially surfing. No wonder along the beach you can easily find surfboards for rent. Wanna try?

To learn some basic knowledge about surfing, you can sign up for lessons  at one of the famous surf school  that located right on the beach, such as Odysseys, Rip Curl Surf School or Surfer Girl Surfing School.


Soka Beach


Soka Beach is located in Antap Village, Selemadeg District, 45 kilometers from Denpasar, and 84 Km from Gilimanuk, passing trough  the main Java-Bali highway. Because of its strategic location, Soka Beach has been known for a long time. This beach is crossed by two roads leading to Denpasar and Gilimanuk.

This beach has a very beautiful view. In the west there are hills concatenated into one with Mount Batukaru in the north. Meanwhile, in the east there is Mount Agung and Mount Batukaru.


Nusa Dua Beach


Nusa Dua has 860 acres area. Unproductive land built by local government to integrated tourist attractions. The resort has grown into a beautiful and prestigious tourists place.

Nusa Dua located in Badung regency, Bali. 30 km from Denpasar, and the distance from airport is 12 km. This area has the most complete tourism facilities in Bali, even in Indonesia, such as accommodation, sports facilities and shopping centers. Until now the region has built nine hotels. This area also has a very beautiful beach. Nusa Dua is one of the best resorts in the world.


Legian Beach


One of the most crowded beaches in Bali. Located in north Kuta, Seminyak, this area is famous for its nightlife. There are dozens of pubs, bars and nightclubs near the beach. Some pubs are often organized party scene. This beach has a same atmosphere as Kuta. There are many hotels around the beach, as well as other public facilities.

Not only the nightlife you can enjoy here, the beach is also beautiful in the day. You can surf here, this beach has a big waves. You can also try bungee jumping near double six club.


Sanur Beach


Located in the east Denpasar. Sanur beach first introduced by a Belgian painter AJ. Le Mayeur with his wife who has lived in Bali since 1937. Sanur beach has approximately 3 km long with a coastline facing eastward. 

This beach is famous for its clean white beach. Sanur is an alternative for local and foreign tourists who want to avoid the crowds on beaches such as Kuta or Nusa Dua.

Some hotels are located near the beach such as Grand Bali Beach Hotel, Hyatt, Sanur Beach Hotel, Sindu Beach and many more along East and Southeast the beach.


Petitenget Beach


This beach is different from Legian or Kuta, which are so crowded and it is difficult to get privacy. Petitenget beach is very quiet and comfortable. This beach is called Petitenget, according to Pura Petitenget myth, which is on the edge of this beach. Besides its natural beauty, on the edge of Petitenget Beach there are Hindu temples, Pura Petitenget which is often used for worship.

The beach is not too crowded, has white sand, and big waves, so it's perfect for surfing and other beach sports. Petitenget Beach is located at the Kerobokan village, North Kuta district, Badung regency, Bali.


Karma Kandara Beach


Like most beaches in Bali, Karma Kandara Beach has a very beautiful natural scenery, a bit hidden behind the cliffs, has a white and soft sand, making it very comfortable to swim and relax.

To enter the beach area, first you must walking through a narrow corridor between the fence temples and hotels to reach the edge of the cliff. From the cliff, you will see a panoramic view of the exotic beach Karma Kandara.

Karma Kandara Beach is located at Ungasan, Kuta district, Badung regency, Bali.


Tanjung Benoa Beach


Tanjung Benoa is a tourist spot for water sport lovers, such as Jetsky, Banana Boat, Parasailing, Scuba Diving, Paragliding, Canoeing, Snorkeling, Flying, Glassbottom, and you also trip to Turtle Island. The beach is secluded, far away from the hustle bustle, making Tanjung Benoa become a favorite spot for water traveled.

Tanjung Benoa is located at south-eastern Bali, or exactly on the north of Nusa Dua, 20 minutes from Ngurah Rai Airport. The beach is less suitable for surfing, because the waves are not too big, but it has the most complete water sport facilities in Bali.


Keramas Beach


The beach is located in the Village Keramas Blahbatu District, Gianyar, Bali. Where can be reached about 20-25 minutes from Gianyar, it is only about 6 km away. Keramas Beach is a paradise for tourists, especially for surfer.

Virgin Beach

Virgin beach, or Prasi Beach is located in Prasi village, Karangasem regency, Bali. About 2 hours drive from Denpasar City. Virgin Beach has an unspoiled natural conditions, because it has not been exploited by humans.

The name "Virgin beach" indeed describes the geography and beauty of this beach. Located between two cliffs makes Virgin Beach a bit difficult to find.


Lovina Beach


Lovina Beach presents a natural seascape. There are many tourist facilities at this beach you can enjoy. The most interesting of this beach is a trip to the sea, which will bring you to a lot of Dolphins around the sea.

To see the many attractions from the Dolphins, travelers must go to sea very early, around 06.00. Why? Because the Dolphins are just appearing in the Lovina beach between 6 to 8 am only.

Besides the Dolphins, Lovina Beach also presents natural beauty under the sea. Travelers can enjoy snorkeling, you will find many species of ornamental fish uernd the sea. In addition to ornamental fish, there are also coral reefs and other underwater plants that you can explore.

Lovina Beach is located on the north coast of Bali, about 10 km west of Singaraja. The beach is accessible from Denpasar to Singaraja through Bedugul and then get to Lovina.


Suluban Beach


Suluban beach has clear water and high waves, making it a favorite for tourists who love surfing. Located in the Pecatu village, Badung regency, approximately three kilometers from Pura Uluwatu. Suluban Beach is about 32 kilometers from Denpasar to the south, through Kuta, Ngurah Rai Airport, Tuban and Jimbaran village.

The name "Suluban" comes from the word "Mesulub" which has the meaning of 'running or passing under something'. Why named Suluban? In short, named Suluban Beach cause every visitor will pass through a rock cave, before it finally reached the beautiful beach, white sand with high waves that is very beautiful and being attractive sights for tourists.


Dreamland Beach


Dreamland Beach is located in Pecatu village, Badung regency, in the southern of Bali island. The beach can reach about 30 minutes from Kuta. You'll find this beach on the way to the famous temples in Bali, Pura Uluwatu.

Dreamland Beach is a beautiful beach and not too crowded. The location is a bit hidden, because it is surrounded by high cliffs and towering rock. This stunning beach is below a steep cliff with a natural beauty that is less exposed.

This beach has big waves, so it is good for water sports, such as surfing and parasailing. This place also has a unique beautiful corals and often used for prewedding photography by local people.


Nyang Nyang Beach


Nyang Nyang beach offers the beauty of white sand and perfect waves for surfers. This beach is a heaven for all surfers. This beach is better known among surfers because it has a pretty big waves that is ideal for surfing.

When you arrive, you will see this island as uninhabited island, from the beach you can see the hills that full of green trees. The atmosphere is really quiet and lonely because not many tourists who come here. After you play sand and sea bathing, don’t forget, there are still way up the ladder to be passed, in the hundreds of stairs there are three resting place for seat.


Jimbaran and Kedonganan Beach


This beach is only about 3 km from Ngurah Rai International Airport. So, once you arrive, you can go directly to this beach. This beach has beautiful white sand and calm sea waves. A perfect place to relax.

This beach is located about 16 km south-west Denpasar. A cozy place that synonymous with fishermen, fish and cafés and charming views from the surrounding.

Jimbaran Beach is adjacent to Kedonganan. Both of these beach is the center of seafood, which is famous among local, domestic and foreign tourists.


Labuan Sait Beach


Labuan Sait located in Badung regency, Bali. The beach is very convenient place for family recreation because its convenience, aesthetics and safety. This beach has a unique location, because it lies under the rock cliffs where his condition is a blend from beach atmosphere with rolling hills, the cliffs also full of beautiful natural ornaments.

This beach has white sand. Tranquil atmosphere fit for family recreation or honeymoon. In addition, this beach has a high waves, so its great for surfing.


Secret Ketewel Beach


Secret Ketewel is excellent location for surfing. This beach is one of the best surfing location in the world.  Located at Ketewel village, Gianyar regency, Bali, this beach visited by many international surfers.

According the name “secret”, it wasn’t many people know this beach. Until 1988, a surfer from Sanur found this beach, and then the beach was given the name "Secret". Because it is not many people who touched it, the beach is seen very natural.

For surfers, there are at least 10 spots along the beach is like Coconut Beach, Pica Point, Little Nias, Biaung (secret point), Temple Point, Second Secret, Secret Tewel.


Canggu Beach


Located in Canggu village, North Kuta, Badung regency, Bali, this beach is one of the 50 best beaches in the world from CNNgo. This is a perfect place for surf.

Across the beach you will see a stretch of paddy fields, a combination of a very beautiful panorama. This beach has a very good waves, making it one of the favorite places for local and international surfers. This beach is also home for the international event Indonesian Surfing Championship (ISC).


Lean Beach


This beach is located at Lean village, Abang district, Karangasem regency, Bali, about 2 hours from Denpasar City. You can enjoy some marine attractions such as swimming, snorkeling, diving and even fishing using fishing boats .

This place is not so crowded, as most local people on this beach did not make this beach as a location for tourism. Generally they are fishermen and farmers.

This beach has clear water, making it excellent for snorkeling or swimming. The waves are also rather large, so you can surf here.


Balian Beach


Balian beach is located in Tabanan - Bali, Lalanglinggah village, West Selemadeg District, About 60 km from Ngurah Rai Airport or about 2 hours by car to Gilimanuk.

Unlike most beaches in Bali, the beach has black sand, but the waves are high, so it is also a great place for surfing. Balian Beach is also has reef rockly waves, which move from right to the left. The beach is not much visited by tourists, although it looks very charming and magnificent view. If you want to stay overnight, there are some cheap hotels around the beach.


Bingin Beach


Bali's southern region is synonymous with white sandy beaches, including Bingin beach. This beach is located at Pecatu village, South Kuta, Badung regency. About 32 kilometers from Denpasar, after Dreamland beach.

Balangan beach is located at northern Dreamland and South Kuta beach, exactly in the Unggasan hills, Jimbaran village, Kuta - Bali.


Amed Beach


Located at east Bali, 30 minutes from downtown Amlapura, Karangasem regency and about 2.5 - 3 hours drive from the airport. This beach is famous for its diving and snorkeling locations. Other beautiful beach here is Jemeluk Amed Beach that has an exotic underwater scenery both coral reef and tropical fish life.

Amed coast is a paradise for divers, has a beach with coral texture, the water is clear and calm waves, and has a beautiful underwater.

In Jemeluk hill, you can see the beautiful expanse of blue ocean, a row of fishing boats along the beach and the beauty of Mount Agung. Your vacation will feel difference with the rural atmosphere and friendly local residents.


Suraberata Beach


This beach is located at Suraberata, Lalanglinggah village, Selemadeg District, Tabanan regency, Bali. Because this placein Suraberata,the beach also named Suraberata.

This place offers peace and unspoiled beautiful scenery with the black sand will look shiny when exposed to sunlight and high waves are excellent for surfing. Local residents around the Suraberata beach generally is a farmer and fishermen. If you want to stay overnight, here are some cheap hotels around the beach. Purnama Beach


Purnama Beach is located in Banjar Mortar Telabah, Sukawati village, Ubud district, Gianyar regency, about 11 km from Denpasar city. Some activities that you can be done is like relaxing, sunbathing, surfing, or fishing. Purnama Beach also often used as a place of religious ceremonies by the locals, such as Melasti and Melarung.

Purnama Beach deserves to be your priority while on holiday in Bali. The beauty and charm will attract and amazed anyone. This beach has black sand-like crystals, big waves and a beautiful view from the green paddy fields.
